BOOKING QUESTIONS
How do I book a seat?
Fill out our online reservation form at ridewithlet.com/bookaride. Select your route, travel date, and number of passengers. Once submitted, you'll receive deposit payment instructions by email and text. Your seat is confirmed once your deposit is received. Click "Book A Ride" or "Find Seats" to access our booking form. Fill out your route, date, and passenger info, then pay your deposit to lock in your seat. You'll receive a confirmation via email or text.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We recommend booking at least 5–7 days in advance to secure your seat. Routes have a maximum of 20 seats per trip and fill up fast. Same-week bookings may be available depending on availability — contact us to check.
What is the deposit and why is it required?
A 25% deposit is required to hold your seat. Because we require a minimum of 15 passengers for the bus to depart, deposits help us confirm committed riders and plan accordingly. Without a confirmed deposit, your seat is not reserved. A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your seat. The remaining balance is due 48 hours prior to departure. Please review our cancellation policy at booking.
Can I book for multiple people?
Yes. You can book multiple seats in one reservation. Enter the number of adults, children, and infants in the booking form. Each person requires their own seat and fare.
Can I transfer my booking to a different date?
Yes, one date transfer is allowed per booking, subject to availability, if requested at least 72 hours before your original travel date. Contact us at (708) 580-7225 or ridewithlet@gmail.com to request a transfer.
TRAVEL & PICKUP QUESTIONS
Where is the pickup location?
Pickup location details are provided after your deposit is received and your seat is confirmed. We currently serve the Chicago South Side and South Suburbs area. The exact address and any secondary pickup stops will be sent to you by text and email 48 hours before your trip. Our designated pickup location in Chicago will be provided in your confirmation details. We aim for a convenient, accessible departure point for all passengers.
What time should I arrive at the pickup stop?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time. The bus will not wait for late arrivals. We operate on a strict schedule to ensure all passengers arrive at their facilities during visiting hours.
What should I bring on the trip?
Bring two valid forms of ID (one must be a state-issued photo ID), any facility-required documentation, and comfortable clothing that complies with the facility's dress code. Do not bring bags, electronics, food, or drinks that you plan to take into the visiting room — facilities prohibit these items and they will be confiscated.
Can I bring food or snacks for the bus ride?
Yes, you may bring snacks and drinks for the bus ride itself. Please be respectful of other passengers and keep the bus clean.
What if I miss the bus?
Unfortunately we cannot wait for passengers who are not at the pickup stop at departure time. Missing the bus does not qualify for a refund. We strongly recommend arriving 15 minutes early and confirming your pickup location the night before.
Can I bring bags or items for my visit?
Yes — passengers may bring personal items and approved visitor bags. Please note that all items are subject to facility inspection policies. LET does not screen facility-specific approved items.
Do you offer return trips?
Yes, round-trip options are available. Select "Round Trip" in the booking form and choose your return date and time. Return trips must be booked simultaneously with your departure.
FACILITY & VISITOR APPROVAL QUESTIONS
Do I need to be pre-approved to visit?
Yes. You must be on the incarcerated person's approved visitor list at their specific facility before you can visit or book with LET. LET cannot verify your approval status — that is between you and the facility. If you are denied entry at the facility, LET does not issue refunds.
How do I get approved to visit someone?
Contact the facility directly or visit the Illinois Department of Corrections website at idoc.illinois.gov to complete a Prospective Visitor Interview form (DOC 0148). Processing times vary by facility. Plan ahead — approval can take several weeks for first-time visitors.
What if I have a criminal record?
Having a criminal record does not automatically disqualify you from visiting. However, you will need written approval from the facility's Chief Administrative Officer before your visit. Contact the facility directly well in advance of your travel date.
What is the facility dress code?
Each IDOC facility has its own dress code. Generally, visitors must wear conservative clothing with no revealing cuts, no colors associated with gangs, no hats, and no clothing resembling inmate uniforms. Always check the specific facility's rules before traveling — violations result in denied entry and LET cannot issue refunds for this.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
What if the bus doesn't reach minimum passengers?
If a trip does not reach the minimum of 15 confirmed passengers, LET reserves the right to cancel that trip. In that case, you will receive a full refund including your deposit within 3–5 business days. We will notify you as soon as possible — no later than 48 hours before the scheduled departure.
Is LET affiliated with IDOC or any correctional facility?
